THE BIG BLUES

offers to its guests incredible fishing action around Thailand with some of the biggest and strongest freshwater fishes in the world.

We have access in fact to various venues in the countryside around Bangkok and Phuket, to the Chaophraya and Maeklong rivers and to breathtaking reservoirs around the country such as Cheow Lan Lake in the Khao Sok National Park (not far from Phuket) which will provide you with a memorable fishing experience.

Bungsamran is a twenty acres converted swamp which today is one of the most extraordinary fisheries in the world which can be fished in full comfort even in a break while touring Bangkok or for one or more days, 24 hours a day.
Giant Mekong Catfish from 15 kg to 100 kg, Striped Catfish from 5 kg to 15 kg, Chaophraya Giant Catfish from 2 kg to 30 kg, Giant Siamese Carp from 20 kg to 100 kg, Amazonian Arapaima from 110 kg to 200 kg, Pacu from 2kg to 9 kg, Giant Snakehead from 4 kg to 15 kg, Rohu from 2kg to 10 kg, Small Scale Mud Carp from 1kg to 10 kg, Hoeven's Slender Carp from 1 kg to 8 kg and many more Thai species can be found here.

Because of the impressive size and power of many of the species found in this park, many IGFA records, although debatable, have been set here and on request we can even arrange for you an attempt!

Also we can organize fishing trips in private lakes and in the Chaophraya and Maeklong rivers always in the Bangkok region for some of the strongest and biggest freshwater fishes in the world such as the Giant Freshwater Stingray, Arapaima, Red Tail Catfish, Aimara and Alligator Gar.

Other venues instead will provide some action on light spinning or fly fishing targeting mainly Pacu, Barramundi and the elusive Giant Snakehead.

For the first two the action is fast and furious and can be literally non-stop. As far as the Giant Snakehead is concerned, for those who love sight fishing there is really nothing else to compare it with.

In this regard The Big Blues can organize as well incredible fishing guided trips for spinning or fly fishing enthusiasts around the country, where you will fish in an extraordinary environment sleeping either on board of bamboo houseboats or in private huts in full contact with the surrounding nature.

The Big Blues can arrange fishing trips to these waters which include a private English speaking local guide, transport and accommodation and will give you the opportunity as well to visit some unusual and out of the track spots in Thailand.

The Big Blues freshwater fishing rates (Thai Bath x angler)

• The above prices include the following: VAT tax, fishing licence for 1 rod per angler, catch guarantee, transport to/from the hotel or airport, full assistance of The Big Blues English speaking guide and of course lures and the use of first class fishing gear.
• The Barramundi ponds are located just a short forty minute journey from Bangkok. The complex is situated in a rural area and surrounded by lush farmlands. The ponds consistently produce large 15-30 fish hook-ups of hard fighting Barramundi to all anglers fishing with us at this venue. A daily fishing trip for Barramundi in Thailand is the perfect option for lure anglers and fly fishing enthusiasts staying in Bangkok with short time at their disposal for fishing.
• Please note that if you like fly fishing you should bring your own gear.
• On request fishing for Snakehead in the nearby ponds can be arranged as well, depending on the season; in this case additional charges apply.

• The above package is for 3 days/2 nights and includes the following: VAT tax, transport to/from the hotel or airport and daily use of a private luxury a/c minibus, 1 fishing boat (longtail) with one guide per angler, full assistance of The Big Blues English speaking guide, accommodation in a comfortable resort and of course lures and the use of first class fishing gear.
• Alternative packages are available for a minimum of 1 day.
• During the breaks of the fishing you can use the minibus to visit the exotic surrounding.
• Non-fishing guests are welcome free - with the exception of extra accommodation if required.

• The above package is for 3 days/2 nights and includes the following: VAT tax, transport to/from the hotel or airport in Phuket, 1 fishing boat (longtail) with guide, full assistance of The Big Blues English speaking guide, accommodation in a local floating bungalows, food and of course lures and the use of first class fishing gear.
• Alternative packages are available starting from a minimum of 2 days/1 night.
• Non-fishing guests are welcome free - with the exception of extra accommodation if required.
• Great experience in a unique location for adventurous anglers! Cheow Lan Lake is located inside Khao Sok National Park. approximately 2/3 hours drive from both Phuket and Khao Lak. This man-made lake (160 sqkm) with its floating raft houses is surrounded by huge limestone mountains of over 1000 meters, the oldest evergreen rainforest in the world, amazing wildlife (wild elephants, otters, deer, wild boar, macaque, gibbon, langur monkeys, water buffalos, bears, asian wild dog, leopards) and flora (i.e. the world's largest flower Rafflesia which reaches over 80 cm in diameter).

• Fishing for Giant Freshwater Stingrays in Thailand is one of the last frontiers of freshwater fishing as it has been described as the world's largest freshwater fish.
• The above package is for 2 days/1 night and includes the following: VAT tax, transport to/from the hotel or airport, one large fishing boat and an additional smaller one for bait placement and support, full assistance of The Big Blues English speaking local guide and other 4-6 local guides, accommodation in a 3* hotel nearby the fishing area and of course baits and the use of first class fishing gear (rods 80-130 lb with Shimano and Accurate reels).
• Alternative packages are available with a minimum of 1 day.
• It is mandatory to be physically in good shape to fight these giants since usually fights last several hours.
• Full moon lunar phases seems to be the most productive times to fish.
  
• Since the fishing happens only during the peaks of the tide, it is advisable to fish during the weekend so to have the opportunity to visit the local floating markets and the always amazing surroundings during the breaks of the fishing.

• The above prices include the following: VAT tax, fishing licence for 2 rod per angler, transport to/from the hotel or airport, accommodation in a 3* hotel nearby the fishing area (only for package F), full assistance of The Big Blues English speaking local guide and of course baits/lures and the use of first class fishing gear.
• In case of packahge E anglers will have the chance to fish with lures or flies in the morning for the many predatory species such as Giant Snakehead, Barramundi, Alligator Gar and Redtail Catfish. Later in the afternoon anglers are permitted to change over to bait fishing (1 rod) with either live or dead baits which are then free lined or float fished for the predators; anyway while the live bait is free, dead bait is charged 80 THB per kg.
• In case of package F the lake also has a good stock of other predatory species such Chao Phraya Catfish from 30 to 50 kg, Giant Siamese Carp from 20 to 60 kg, Redtail Catfish up to 40 kg and small Giant Freshwater Stingray up to 60 kg. For those interested in chasing these other species as well additional charges will apply.
• In case of package F in the event that a large Arapaima or Pirarucu is caught several guides are required to assist in the landing, releasing of the fish. The fishes will not be weighed or removed from the water under any circumstances after capture due to their delicate and fragile nature and will be released after having completely recovered from the stress of the capture.
  

• The above prices include the following: VAT tax, fishing licence for 1 rod per angler, bait, transport to/from the hotel, full assistance of The Big Blues English speaking local guide, catch guarantee, a Thai style bungalow with fan and running water (max 2 anglers each) and of course the use of first class fishing gear.
• In case of package H , I and L a Thai style bungalow with a double room with air condition, toilet and cable TV is included.
• In case of package L, 2 packs of chumming are included.
• Non-fishing guests welcome free of charge - with the exception of extra accommodation if required.
• Food and drinks are cheaply available at the local restaurant and coffee bar or alternatively delivered directly to your private bungalow; extra bait and chum can be purchased over there as well.
• Alternative packages are available on request.

The above package includes:

- package A, light spinning for Barramundi for 1 day;

- package B, light spinning for Giant Snakehead for 4 days;

- package E, special lure & fly fishing for Arapaima up to 60 kg, Alligator Gar, Red Tail Catfish, Pacu, Barramundi, Giant Snakehead for 2 days

with all the transfers to/from hotel/airport and accommodations included.

The above package includes:

- package L, Giant Siamese Carp and Mekong Catfish "Special Big Specimen" for 2 days;

- package A, light spinning for Barramundi for 1 day;

- package B, light spinning for Giant Snakehead for 2 days;
